If you have fumbled through the settings for Ford Mykey and have activated the setting, you may be wondering how to remove it. The Ford Mykey system is specifically setup for new drivers who have just received their driver's license. It limits the max speed that can be drivin on the freeway along with special limits on the radio volume so as not to be distracted. Although a helpful feature, it may not be needed for you specifically and can be aggravating to deal with on a daily basis. In order to remove the feature, you will first need a administrative or master key that does not have the My Key setting activated. This can be acquired from your local locksmith or dealership. If purchasing keys online, please be aware key blanks will still need to be cut and programmed by a professional locksmith they cannot be programmed by the customer.

If you already have an administrative key and would like to remove the My Key setting on the second key, this can be done through the dashboard settings by selecting MyKey, DO NOT select create MyKey!!!
Next go to the bottom of the settings and select clear MyKeys. Hold Okay to clear, you should now have 2 administrative Ford keys that can be used normally.
